Senior Medical Writer

We are looking for a writer with a passion for scientific storytelling to write medical/scientific content that will engage and educate diverse audiences. The role will involve developing and writing engaging, accurate and fully referenced scientific, clinical and medical copy for a wide variety of audiences.

The Senior Medical Role will include (but is not limited to):

  • Producing content for a broad range of medical and scientific deliverables including: manuscripts, abstracts, meeting presentations and training
  • Considering feedback from scientific and editorial review; incorporating complex editorial comments and resolving queries
  • Analysing, interpreting, and summarising data from a variety of sources to produce accurate and insightful overviews for a variety of target audiences
  • Maintaining professional working relationships with authors, thought leaders and external companies supporting the generation of content
  • Ensuring that editorial style is appropriate, consistent within and between documents, aligned with corporate style and of the highest standard
  • Developing expert knowledge in therapeutic area and around SGN001

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • At least 3–5 years of medical writing experience including exposure to US, UK and European markets
  • BSc /MSc/PhD in a life science subject
  • A track record in publication planning and delivery
  • Preference for expertise in Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, and/or Critical Care
  • An understanding of the current publication environment, ICMJE, GPP3, and other relevant guidelines related to scientific data dissemination
  • Able to understand complex scientific and medical concepts and have an adaptable writing style in order to produce a full range of publication plan outputs
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Effective organisational skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a small, emerging biotechnology organisation
  • Ability to travel Internationally to scientific meetings as required
  • Ability to work as part of team and independently
