Research and Development
Synairgen has specialised clinical and scientific research teams dedicated to drug discovery in asthma and COPD. Their main activities are summarised below:

Clinical

• Extensive Biobank of relevant tissue, cells, blood and airway secretions from volunteers (both diseased and healthy)
• Phase I & II clinical trial capability
• Expertise in common cold virus challenge studies in subjects with respiratory disease
• Lung biomarker validation and assessment

Research

• Advanced human in vitro models generated from the Biobank samples, including use of virus infection models (experienced in use of rhinovirus, RSV, influenza etc)
• Application of human tissue models for:
  • Target discovery           
  • Target validity
  • Support Clinical Activity
